Non-resident Sri Lanka, Non Nationals, Companies registered out side Sri Lanka and companies registered with the board of Investment (BOI) in Sri Lanka are eligible to open current/call deposit accounts in this banking unit in currencies authorized by Central Bank of Sri Lanka. A company registered with the BOI should have specific approval to open a FCBU account, given under section 17(2) This will be indicated in the BOI agreement or the company should obtain a separate letter from BOI giving this approval.
• Bank’s standard account opening forms should be completed.
• Initial deposit USD 10,000/- (OR Equivalent) in currencies approved/specified by the Central bank of Sri Lanka.
• A Group Introduction Form (GIF) from any of our group should be given for companies registered overseas.
• For companies registered overseas the additional documents required will be those needed to open an ordinary current account in the country of incorporation/registration (i.e. if the company is registered in Hong Kong. The documents needed to open a current account for a limited liability company in Hong Kong will be required duly certified by their bankers in Hong Kong SAR).
Companies incorporated outside Sri Lanka should provide the additional documentation needed to open a Limited Liability company current account in the country of incorporation, duly certified by their Bankers abroad, and the signatures of all signatories should be duly certified by them. Original of all additional documents should be sighted by the Bank.
- Certificate of incorporation.
- Board Resolution signed by the chairman of the meeting and countersigned by the company secretary.
- Memorandum & Articles of Association.
- Form 48.
- Copy of BOI Agreement where specific approval must be given for opening of FCBU accounts under section 17(2).
