HSBC's savings accounts are a rewarding way to save. We offer both Sri Lankan Rupee savings accounts, and foreign currency savings accounts in a range of currencies. Our interest rate is calculated daily and credited monthly, so you can watch your money grow faster every month. We also follow a tiered interest rate structure, therefore, the more you save the higher the interest you receive.

Our savings accounts offer a host of features to help you handle your routine money matters more conveniently and efficiently.
Requirements
- Bank Account Opening Form ( Download Now )
- Proof of Identity - two types (eg- National Identity card, Passport, Driving License)
- Proof of address
- Initial deposit of LKR 50,000
- Sri Lanka rupee savings accounts can be opened only by Sri Lankan nationals holding a valid national identity card/passport
- You need to maintain a minimum credit balance of LKR25,000 in your savings accounts in order to avoid a service charge

- Track your savings through a statement generated either monthly or quarterly for your LKR savings account and monthly for your foreign currency savings account.
- Use your ATM/Debit card to withdraw and transfer funds, pay utility bills, make credit card payments, deposit cash or cheques, request a mini statement and even check your account balance.

ATM functions and characteristics
- Withdraw a maximum of LKR75,000 per day (depending on the type of account you have and country ATM limits)
- Transfer funds up to LKR1 million between your accounts and up to LKR200,000 to third party accounts
- Deposit cash, cheques or even send your requests to us
